During a 4-year long distance relationship with my now wife, I wrote a book of poetry dedicated to her. Many of the poems in the Poetry category came from this time in my life.

Pain strokes my heart when I am not there to feel your eternal liveliness.
I open my eyes to darkness that calls out in a lonely room.
Echo after echo there is no answer…
I close my eyes once again and see a glorious silhouette of the woman I love.
You stand in a daze, still, and looking for a key to unlock your desired need for comfort.
Suddenly, I awaken to the smell of sweetness and turn to see an angelic figure gazing into my lost and child-like eyes.
I lean over to kiss those tender, wet lips and you fade…
into nothingness…
Where have you gone?
Will you come back?
Only time and patience can cure my lonely, aching heart.
Only the touch felt when with you can lighten my spirit and encourage me to live on…
Until we meet again.
